Ellen's New Quintet, featuring lots of new music written by Ellen.
Personnel: India Cooke, Violin; Dave Ellis, Tenor Sax; Ellen, Piano; Mario Suraci, Bass; and Eddie Marshall, Alto Recorder and Drums.

Sunday, November 21st at 4:00pm: Ellen is the musical director for "Let Yourself Go," presented by the Berkeley Broadway Singers. Free admission. St. Augustine's Church, 400 Alcatraz Avenue, Oakland.

December 2004, Ellen will be back in Switzerland performing for New Years Eve in Reigoldswill, at OrchideaLodge, a holoistic retreat center on top of a mountain.

Ellen received a commission from SONOS Hand Bell Ensemble and the Continental Harmony Project, to compose a Ragtime piece for orchestra and handbells.

Sunday Jan. 26th, The Ellen & Ellen Show. Vocalist Ellen Robinson teams up w Ellen for a Concert & SingAlong at the Montclair Women's Center 1650 Mtn. Blv (off Hiway #13) in Oakland. 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Saturday April 3rd, BBS gives a private concert for the homeless at St. Anthony's in Berkeley

April: The Buffalo (New York) Philharmonic will perform one of Ellen's pieces, "Trouble at the River" (a contemporary spiritual for chorus, string orchestra and piano) in a gospel concert.

May 21st: Oakland East Bay Symphony & Choruses will perform two of Ellen's pieces at the Paramount Theatre, Oakland. For more info, go to the website oebs.org.

Sunday, November 24th, 12 noon to 2:00pm, Ellen accompanied Mark Murphy in a Vocal Workshop at the Jazzschool in Berkeley.

Week of November 18th, PRIVATE LESSONS with vocal JazzMaster Mark Murphy and Ellen accompanying.

December 2, 4, 9, 11, 16, 18 - all 11:30 - 1:30 pm at 1111 Broadway (the lobby) downtown Oakland. Ellen played solo piano holiday carols & some jazz standards too.

October 5th and 6th, Ellen accompanied Madeline Eastman in VOICESHOP, a weekend workshop at The Jazzschool in Berkeley.

Saturday, August 10th, Ellen played piano as part of the "Downtown Berkeley Afternoon Music Circus."

Friday, August 16th, Ellen accompanied Anna DeLeon at Anna's Jazz Bistro.

Tuesday, August 20th, Chamber Orchestra with Ellen directing, started up at Contra Costa College. (Our 5th year!) ... we could still use a few more string players! Contact Ellen.

Saturday, July 20th, Ellen taught a one-day Workshop on Spirituals for Bella Musica, a Berkeley choral chamber group.

Saturday, July 13th, Ellen played with legendary Blues/Jazz/Folk traditional protest singer Barbara Dane celebrating her 75th birthday at the Freight.

Friday, July 5th, Ellen gave a concert at the Freight and Salvage with Melecio Magdaluyo, Peter Barshay, Anna DeLeon, Patti Maxine and Tina Marzell.

June 22nd-29th, 2002, Ellen taught at Jazz Camp West.

Friday, June 21st, 7-10pm, Ellen appeared with Betsy Rose and Kate Munger at the Montclair Women's Center.

Saturday, May 18th, The Oakland East Bay Symphony and the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir performed a piece written by Ellen in a family concert. Seek Ye First, commissioned by the James Irvine Foundation. For more info visit the Oakland East Bay Symphony.
